FIBA World Cup 2014 Results, Scores, Schedule & Highlights: USA Defeats Turkey; Spain Dominates Egypt in Day 2

Team USA and Spain proved once again why they are considered favorites to win in the tournament after dominating their respective opponents in day two of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.

USA started out slow before getting into the groove in the second half to run away with a 98-77 win over Turkey on Sunday in Bilbao, which was a rematch of their final showdown in the 2010 World Basketball Championship.

Kenneth Faried, known for his hustle and energy play, led the way for the Americans as he finished with 22 points to go along with eight rebounds, while Anthony Davis added 19 points and six rebounds.

James Harden racked up 14 points to go along with seven assists and three steals, while Kyrie Irving and DeMarcus Cousins added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for USA, who had a lackluster start in the match.

Turkey, a heavy underdog heading into Sunday's match, managed to force a 16-16 deadlock after the first period then took a five-point lead heading into the half.

However, the star-studded Team USA flexed their muscles in the second half, outscoring the Turkish side, 63-37, en route to the blowout win, their second lopsided win in as many games,

Meanwhile, host Spain was hardly threatened in their second assignment as they routed Egypt, 91-54, inside a jam-packed Arena in Granada.

Serge Ibaka, who did not play in their opening-day win against Iran on Saturday, led all scorers with 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field, while also adding a game-high eight rebounds.

Rudy Fernandez scored 14 points in 17 minutes, Pau Gasol had 12 points in 19 minutes, while Marc Gasol racked up eight points and five rebounds in 15 minutes for Spain, who also improved to 2-0 in the World Cup of Basketball.

In other notable matches, Croatia also listed their second win with a close 90-85 victory against Argentina, while France, who lost to Brazil on Saturday, bounced back with a hard-earned 74-73 win against Serbia.

Senegal also scored an upset on Sunday, pulling off an 82-75 win against Senegal, while Greece held off Philippines' "Gilas" squad, 82-70, for their second win.
