Manny Pacquiao Next Fight News: Floyd Mayweather Open To Facing Pacquiao But On His Own Terms

Floyd Mayweather remained undefeated but most analysts are still saying that the pound-for-pound king's career will have question marks if he will not face Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, who scored a dominating win against Marcos Maidana in their rematch on Saturday, said that he is looking to take a quick rest and start preparing for his next fight.

The unbeaten champion, who improved his record to 47-0 with 26 knockouts, said that he is unsure who will his next opponent be, but Mayweather said that he is open to facing Pacquiao.

"We don't know what the future holds, as of right now," Mayweather said via ESPN UK. "Anything is possible."

But for the fight to happen, the 37-year-old champion insisted that it should be on his own terms, saying that the fight should be on Showtime Pay-Per-View only and will be promoted by Mayweather Promotions.

"If the Pacquiao fight does happen it has to happen on Showtime pay-per-view only and Mayweather Promotions have to do the fight," Mayweather said. "At the moment I want to go home, have a break, spend some time with my children and then see who's next in May. Hopefully it's Manny Pacquiao."

Pacquiao's camp recently said that they are open to facing Mayweather, but the possible dispute between Showtime and HBO, who carries Pacquiao's fight on PPV, could be a major stumbling block.

Mayweather also added that Pacquiao should focus first on his upcoming fight against Chris Algieri on November 22 at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China before thinking about the proposed super fight.

"Manny needs to focus on the guy that's in front of him," Mayweather said. "Once he gets past that task we'll see what the future holds."

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe also expressed hope that the two sides could work things out to give boxing fans the fight that they have been longing for.

"Of course you have hope, because it's all about giving the fans what they want to see. We would love to fight him. We all know what the obstacles have been in the past. But you forget about all that and try to put it behind you and make it happen," Ellerbe said via BoxingScene.
