Pennslyvania Police Identify Cop Killer, Manhunt Underway

Police officials in Pennslyvania have revealed the identity of a suspect who attacked two state troopers on Friday near the Blooming Grove Barracks in Pike County.

According to State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan, the 31-years old Eric Matthew Frein, had expressed his intent to take the life of an officer and committing mass murder.

"What his reasons are, we do't know. But he has very strong feelings  about law enforcement and seems to be very angry with a lot of things that go on in our society."

Reports indicate that at about 11:00p.m. on Friday, Sept 12th, the suspect parked his car about two miles from the Blooming Grove Barracks before making it there on foot where he shot two cops who were in the process of changing shifts. While Coporal Bryon Dicksonon lost his life in the incident, his colleague Alex Douglass was lucky to escape with some injuries.

Commissioner Noonan told the press that up to 200 law enforcement officers have been dispatched to scout for the fugitive, who is known to be an experienced survivalist, in the bushes, where he is thought to be hiding.

The Commissioner has also warned that the suspect is armed and extremely dangerous. According to the suspect's father, Micheal Frein, Eric is a very good marksman who rarely misses.

Lt Col George Bivens told the press that the police's investigation has largely been driven by tips from ordinary people. Reports indicate that up to $75,000 has been offered up for grabs to anyone who provides information that may lead to the suspects' arrest.

Meanwhile, the slain officer is set to be laid to rest later in the week.
