Barbra Streisand ‘Partners’ Got Beaten Up By The Script ‘No Sound Without Silence’

Barbra had a good start in the U.K. not until The Script taken over the charts. ‘No Sound Without Silence’ has beaten up Barbra Streisand ‘Partners’.

This is made possible thanks to the release of the album on September 21. The band bagged 3 albums to be on the number 1 spot out of their 4 albums being released.

The release of The Script's new album made it impossible for Barbra Streisand to gain the coveted number one crown in the UK, came in third is Sam Smith’s new album ‘In The Lonely Hour’, 4th is Chris Brown’s 6th album entitled ‘X’.

Does this mean that Streisand lost her power to be #1? Well, this may be due to the songs in the album or the collaborators not in sync with the legendary singer.

According to a review, “Streisand, for instance, invites country star Blake Shelton to join her, but the result, "I'd Want It to Be You" (one of the few songs here that isn't a standard), is oil and water, with her showbiz polish uncomfortably co-existing with his low-key charisma.”

“Her virtual duet with Elvis Presley, on "Love Me Tender," doesn't really work; he's understated throughout, but she can't resist adding vocal fireworks. And while her son, Jason Gould, shows how much he has learned from her with his immaculate, stately crooning on "How Deep Is the Ocean," she, strangely, goes for a more conversational approach.”

Although, there has been few good songs in the album like ‘New York State Of Mind’ with Billy Joel and the bossa nova version of the song ‘People’ together with Stevie Wonder.

The album might not be a total package that everyone will love to listen to especially in today’s generation when iTunes became the ‘it’ thing for buying an entire album. Barbra Streisand ‘Partner’ will surely be a hit to older music fans.
