New York Jets Rumors, News & Roster: Percy Harvin Welcomes Trade From Seattle Seahawks To Struggling Jets

Percy Harvin had a sudden twist of fate after he was traded to a team that is determined to defend the Super Bowl to a team that has a good chance of being eliminated early this season.

Harvin was traded by the defending Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks to the struggling New York Jets in exchange for conditional draft picks in 2015.

While his chance of tasting another title this year is very slim, Harvin said that he accepted the trade to the Jets lightly and it became easier when the team's staff welcomed him with open arms despite reports about him being a locker room problem.

Harvin reportedly engaged in altercation with his teammates such as Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate before. He admitted such incidents, but he said that the Jets assured him that the team is not thinking about it anymore.

"The coaching staff, the management, on to the owner, they're not worried about my past," Harvin said via ESPN. "I even tried to explain a couple of things. They told me to be quiet and not to worry about it. It's been all smiles here."

Harvin expressed frustration, though, that the locker room altercations were made public, saying that the team should have done their best to keep it as an in-house problem.

"We had an incident," Harvin said. "I don't really want to get into the details. The way I go about my business is keeping everything in-house. For whatever reason, they decided to unleash things."

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll recently expressed frustration that he failed to make Harvin's state with Seahawks work. He said that they envisioned the wide receiver to play a big role for the team moving forward, but he said that the plan did not work out.

"We've had a lot of cases that called for understanding and compassion and strength and vision," Carroll said via ESPN. "But sometimes it just doesn't work. Most of the time I feel like it does for me, so I take it hard."

Carroll also added that he had discussions with John Schneider about the possible disadvantages of acquiring Harvin before they made the trade last year. He told the general manager that he can make things work, but he admitted that he failed to do so.
