This week, British actor Hugh Laurie will be in Maryland to film HBO's "Veep." My FOXdc.com said the actor will be have a guest appearance on the show but no further details were disclosed. The series is filming its fourth season at a studio in Columbia, Maryland.

"Veep" stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer, the fictional Vice President of the United States. The series was created by Armando Iannucci. The cast also included Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Timothy Simons, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole and Sam Richardson.

According to Hugh Laurie, the cast of the series is the funniest and best cast on television.

"Seems the cat's out of the wet paper bag. I'm doing some episodes of Veep with the funniest and best cast on TV. I have not yet been fired," Hugh Laurie said through Twitter.

Hugh Laurie's "Veep" guesting is his first television role comeback after the eight seasons of the long-running FOX medical drama, "House M.D.," which ended in 2012. According to TV.com, the actor will get an opportunity to showcase his well-polished comedy antics.

At the conclusion of the series' third season, Julia-Louis Dreyfus's Selina Meyer climbed from vice president to president after her POTUS resigned to attend to his wife's mental state following a suicide attempt. E! News said the character was already in the process of running for president.

Meanwhile, Hugh Laurie just spent eight seasons as the main character on FOX's medical drama, "House M.D." The actor has won two Golden Globes and was nominated for six Emmys for his role as the crabby physician, Dr. Gregory House. But now, Entertainment Weekly said Laurie is White House bound.

The actor's guesting on "Veep" marks Hugh Laurie's first scripted television role since his long-running medical series ended in 2012. On the other hand, details about the actor's role are being kept under wraps.
