English Soul Mates Die 10 Minutes Apart: A Perfect Ending For The Devoted Couple’s Life Filled With Love

A shocking and heartbreaking news shocked the care staff in Derby as a devoted couple, who was considered as soul mates, died just 10 minutes apart. Harry and Mavis Stevenson spent their final months at St. Werburgh's House Care Home in Derby.

For 65 years, Harry and Mavis Stevenson stayed true when they vowed to love each other in sickness and in health. The Daily Mail reported that when Mavis died just 48 hours after her 89th birthday, Harry could not bear to be without her. And just 10 minutes apart his beloved wife's death, Harry died. According to the couple's nephew, the soul mates spent their last night holding hands while they slept in a care home.

The English couple, Harry and Mavis, met at the Asterdale social club before he joined the Royal Marines in 1943. According to the Derby Telegraph, Harry raged at Normandy on D-Day to help free continental Europe from Hitler's control. And while combatting the Japanese in the Pacific theater, Harry was shot in the hand.

The soul mates' nephew, 63-year-old Stephen Creswell believed his uncle and aunt, who died 10 minutes apart each other, had the perfect ending to their life filled with so much love. The Telegraph said the couple had refused to be parted throughout their life and when Mavis' health weakened, Harry moved into a care home just to be with her.

"Their love lasted and they were devoted to each other. I can imagine them being together now, after their death, side by side," the couple's nephew said. "I had seen them the day before and I knew Mavis had less time than Harry. Harry was still quite medically strong. When he died I was quite shocked. They would not have wanted to live without each other, so I think it was the perfect ending."

Creswell shared that the care home staff told Harry in the gentlest way that Mavis has died.

"The staff told Harry very gently that she had passed away and said he shed two or three tears. Then they tended to Mavis and the next time they looked over at Harry, he was gone," Creswell stated. "It was less than ten minutes later. He was lying next to her in a separate bed at the time. They shared a room in the home and the staff had pushed the beds together the night before."

He also added that the soul mates who died 10 minutes apart were holding hands during their final night.

"Although it is incredibly sad it is also incredibly wonderful that right until the very end they were together and neither of them had to be alone." Creswell continued.

Creswell also believed that the bond between his aunt and uncle was so strong because they were separated during the war and did not want to be ever be parted again. And though the soul mates who died 10 minutes apart never had children, they poured love on their extended family.

"They wanted to be together. There was no way of separating them," Stephen Creswell said. "They were as close as any couple I have known. They never had a serious argument and were soul mates."

On Thursday, a funeral was held for the soul mates who died 10 minutes apart.
