Cher Cancels Tour: Pop Singer Cancels Tour Due To Viral Infection

Cher cancels tour - Cher has canceled the rest of her 'DRESSED TO KILL' tour after being advised by doctors that she needed time to recover fully from a viral infection. 

Reports indicate that the said infection was affecting the kidney function of the 68-year-old legendary pop singer.

"While her progress has been consistent, Cher's doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure a complete and total recovery," a statement published on her website on Thursday said.

"I am totally devastated. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets," the singer said.

The 'D2K' tour, which was the multi-award winning singer's first since her last tour about a decade ago, was a huge success raking in about $54.9 million with 49 sold out concerts.

According to reports, Cher has canceled the 29 shows left in the tour, which began in March. Cher cancels tour dates for Boston, Chicago, New York and Toronto. The D2K tour was originally scheduled to break in July.

In the statement Cher said that although she is sad to call off the show, she has been happy with the outcome of the tour.

"I'm proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started," Cher said.

'Cher cancels tour' has since gone viral on the Internet and fans have taken to social media to wish her a speedy recovery.

Cher tweeted in response to messages from fans that had planned to visit the show. "I'm SORRY I Couldn't B the 1 to tell you about postponing my tour. I Tried SO HARD 2b Strong enough, but my Will couldn't force my Body time."

The Cher cancels tour announcement also included a message that all tickets holders can get refunds at their point of purchase starting on Monday at 10am.
