CBS News said 41-year-old singer said he wanted to set the issues straight even with the rumors surrounding his personal life.
In spite of the notable multimillion net worth at the peak of his career, Scott Stapp is now broke. But he revealed that a lot of money have been stolen from him and royalties have gone unpaid.
"There are people that have taken advantage of me and stolen money from me," Stapp said. "And they're trying to discredit me, slander me. That's when all hell began to break loose."
Scott Stapp released a solo album called, "Proof of Life" in 2013. USA Today reported the singer had scheduled a two-and-a-half week November tour but was cancelled in October due to health problems. Meanwhile, People reported Stapp believed his financial problems can be traced back to an audit conducted eight weeks ago into his personal finances and record company. He also claimed that the IRS suddenly froze his bank account that left him completely penniless.
"There's been a couple weeks where I had to sleep in my truck," Stapp stated. "I had no money, not even for gas or food. ... I went two days without eating, 'cause I had no money, and ended up in an emergency room."
Earlier this month, Scott Stapp's wife filed for divorce. The Daily Mail said Stapp's wife, Jaclyn Nesheiwat, claimed he was using amphetamines, crystal meth, and steroids in her divorce paperwork.
Despite the fact that Creed has sold more than 50 million record globally, the band's front man revealed he has currently $616 in cash. While The Richest lists Scott Stapp's net worth as $30 million, Celebrity Net Worth says it is only $10,000.
