The Guardian reported the dramatic tension during the game suddenly changed when three supporters entered the pitch.

The first intruder was stopped by the security staff while the second was stopped by Tottenham striker Soldado when he pulled the intruder's shirt from his body, allowing the guards to make up ground. The third intruder was sent flying by Mousa Dembélé. The referee Yevhen Aranovsky led the players from the pitch causing the game to be delayed for nine minutes.

Meanwhile, Tottenham's head coach Mauricio Pochettino describe the team's win at the Europa League as "job done" after they scored one goal at White Hart Lane on its result night on Thursday. Football365.com said Benjamin Stambouli netted the only goal four minutes after the suspension in the match caused by the first half fiasco after three separate pitch invasions.

"I am very pleased with the team and the players," Pochettino said. "I think it was difficult in the first half to play [due to the disturbances] but in the second half we were better and created a lot of chances. It is true that maybe we deserved to score another goal but in the end the job is done."

Although Tottenham could still be pipped to first place by Turkish club Besiktas, the Europa League results 2014 means the team have qualified from Group C with one match remaining. Pochettino also admitted the difficulty on his side to focus during the first half of the game when it was interrupted three times and eventually suspended.

"You never know maybe what can happen on the pitch, but the behaviour from these people was only to go in and to show I don't know who or what," Pochettino added. "I am very disappointed but I think all the club, our supporters, and all people that love the game of football too are because this is a very strange situation."

Though Tottenham will face an inquiry after the fiasco at the Europa League 2014 results on Thursday night, the team will conclude their league fixtures with a trip to Besiktas on Dec. 11.
