Marvel's "Agent Carter" will have a special two-hour premiere on Jan. 6, Screen Crush reported.
ABC has confirmed that the show will start at 8 pm and will open at 9 pm in the following week. The series will have a total of seven episodes.
The setting is in 1946 and Agent Carter is working for the top secret war agency Strategic Scientific Reserve. The agent finds herself in the middle of completing office tasks for SSR and investigating secret missions for the inventor and billionaire Howard Stark. Carter must balance her responsibilities amidst the grief of losing her partner Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, Marvel reported.
"Agent Carter" is inspired by the films Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The First Soldier". Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Agent Peggy Carter
Three years has passed since the actress has appeared in the first "Captain America" movie. Atwell has discussed the character development that the TV viewers can witness in the series.
"I think the main thing is that fans have seen her being capable, being sexy, and being a femme fatale and they want to see something more. They want to see the complexities, the three dimensions of her, what makes her tick, what makes her crumble, what makes her crash and the limitations of who she is because that makes her all the more relatable," Atwell said, according to Screen Rant.
In addition to character exploration, a star studded cast is lined up for the show. Dominic Cooper will reprise his role as Howard Stark. James D' Arcy plays as the loyal butler Edwin Jarvis. Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj are Agent Jack Thompson and Agent Daniel Sousa respectively. Finally, Shea Whigham portrays as SSR boss Chief Roger Dooley.
Meanwhile, a sneak peek has been published on YouTube a month ago and has over 900,000 views as of this time.
