‘Terminator Genisys' Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger is Back [WATCH]

"Terminator Genisys" released the first official trailer on Thursday with Arnold Schwarzenegger back on his iconic role, Sydney Morning Herald reported.

"Genisys" trailer showed a future war filled with lasers and explosions and featured robots including T-800 played by lead actor Schwarzenegger. The movie setting is in 2029 wherein John Connor leads a future war against the robots. Complications arise when spies reveal that a new plot will attack Connor and his team.

Schwarzenegger talked about what to expect in the upcoming reboot. "It's still exactly the same mechanism and the same effectiveness. I had to be ready for all the action the way I was 30 years ago when I did the first one," Schwarzenegger said.

The 67-year-old actor trained for the role and emphasized the importance of safety. "We try to do as much as possible but always try to be safe. Remember what just happened to Harrison Ford with the ankle, because of one little mistake? (Ford broke an ankle while filming "Star Wars") You can't have the hero walk with a limp or a crutch, Schwarzenegger added.

In addition, director Allan Taylor revealed that the film will also focus on dysfunctional families. This means it will explore Connor's time-warped family and their connection with the terminators and the artificial intelligence system Skynet, according to Screen Rant.

Meanwhile, producer David Ellison provided details about the lead character Sarah Connor, who was always protected by the Terminator.

"Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen but Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, that's not what I want to do. It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction," Ellison said, according to Mirror UK.

"Genisys" hits theaters on July 1, 2015 and stars Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney as Reese.
