'The Walking Dead' Spoilers: 'The Walking Dead' Spinoff Features Main Series' Character

"The Walking Dead spinoff may feature a character from the original series, Inquisitr reported.

AMC's spinoff of "The Walking Dead" is in the works and it may feature a character that briefly appeared in the original series. The character is supposedly someone who was featured in an important episode during season one.

There are three top contenders who might fill this role in the companion series with the working title "Cobalt". Original member of the survivor group, Morales who appeared in season one with his family. After the survivor's first camp was attacked by walkers, Morales decided to look for greener pastures in Alabama and left the group.

Second candidate is Vatos gang leader, Guillermo. Vatos gang is a group of Latino survivors who took care of old people in "The Walking Dead" season one.

The top contender is Dr. Edwin Jenner. In season one, Jenner was the only scientist left in the Center for Disease Control. The doctor informed Rick Grimes that everyone is infected with the virus. The revelation was a shock to the group and made them feel more hopeless.

It has been confirmed that "The Walking Dead" spinoff will take place in Los Angeles. This information fueled speculations that Jenner will appear in the new series since a branch of CDC is located in Los Angeles, Christian Today reported.

The CDC works to "monitor importations that may have pathogens infectious to humans." This will be a viable storyline since the spinoff will explore the events at the start of the virus outbreak.

Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman shared his excitement about the companion series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"So the idea of seeing another part of The Walking Dead universe and exploring that is very exciting to me. It's going to be remarkable just how different things can be just by going to a different location. The thing that really excites me most about the spinoff is that I feel like I'm in competition with my 24-year-old self and have to top myself. That's a fun challenge for me," Kirkman said.

Looks like the spinoff will be another exciting show but for now, fans are still waiting for the original series to return. "The Walking Dead" season 5 will resume on Feb.8, 2015
