Heather Hicks Ervin: TV Producer Who Worked With KoMut Entertainment, MTV And VH1 Dies At 39

Heather Hicks Ervin, a longtime coordinating producer and TV exec, has been reported dead. She died on Monday in New York City at 39 years old.

It is currently unclear what led to the death of Heather Hicks Ervin. She is reported to have been at the Mount Sanai Hospital when she died.

Ervin had worked with KoMut Entertainment, which is owned by producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, since 2006. Ervin also took up a new role as Development Executive in Mutchnick's Too Mutch Ink in June.

A statement from both producers said they were "heartsick" at the death of Heather Hicks Ervin. "We've lost so much more than the woman who ran the daily operations of our company for the last 12 years. We lost a surrogate mother, a moral compass, a joyous presence, a sharp and organized thinker, a drinking buddy, a truly funny person, and a deeply kind, deeply loving soul," Mutchnick and Kohan's statement said.

Heather Hicks Ervin studied at Shenendehowa High School and American University. She began her career working at Radio City Productions before moving on to VH1 and MTV. While with KoMut Entertainment, she served as Executive Assistant on Will & Grace, which has been recognized as one of the best written TV series of all times by the Writers Guild of America.

Heather Hicks Ervin is survived by Jason Ervin, her husband, and two sons, Matthew and James, aged 2-years-old and 10-months-old respectively.
