Bobby Petrino's life is seemingly in shambles.
The coach has been fired from Arkansas, and his affair with former employee Jessica Dorrell has been exposed to the entire nation.
Now, it seems Petrino may have even more skeletons in his closet. Deadspin.com reported Thursday that Petrino exchanged hundreds of text messages with bikini model Alison Melder.
With the latest news of his involvement with Melder, one can only imagine what else will be revealed about Petrino's activites outside of his marriage.
After his firing, Petrino said his number one focus is trying to repair the damage he's inflicted upon his family. Even if the coach is somehow able to fix the relationship with his wife, his image in the public may be forever tarnished.
How can Petrino hope to restore his reputation, especially if more salacious details of his affairs come to light?
Petrino may have to do the same thing that public figures in similar situations have done--go to sex rehab.
Many times when a celebrity is caught cheating on his wife, he will claim to be a sex addict and attend a sex rehab clinic. History shows that doing so can be a good public relations move.
Former ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips was caught up in his own scandal when it was discovered that he was cheating on his wife with one of his co-workers. Phillips admitted to being a sex addict, went to rehab and eventually worked his way back to becoming a respected baseball analyst. He currently hosts a show on Sirius XM Radio.
Tiger Woods went a similar route. After a scandal that revealed he cheated on his wife with multiple women, he became one of the most hated people in sports. Woods eventually checked himself into rehab, and just a few years later is back to being the most popular player on the PGA Tour.
Actor David Duchovny has also been in sex rehab after alleged extramarital affairs.
Even if Petrino doesn't really struggle with addiction, he may go to rehab to improve his image. The public might be more sympathetic if they view Petrino's actions as the result of a "disease."
Petrino hasn't said anything suggesting that he's on his way to rehab, but it may be the best way for him to eventually restore his image.
