No ‘Miss Universe’ 2014, But Will There Be Two ‘Miss Universe’ Pageants In 2015?

There may be two "Miss Universe" competitions this 2015, one in January and another in December, as said by several beauty pageant experts. If this will push through, it will be another first for the beauty contest after not staging the competition in 2014.

Since the "Miss Universe' pageant started in 1952, it will be the first time that there'll be no "Miss Universe" competition in a single year if January's contest will be for the 2015 title. It will also mark the longest reign of a "Miss Universe" titleholder, Manila Bulletin cited.

The "Miss Universe" Organization's board has decided to postpone the 2014's competition to Jan. 25, 2015. As reported by GMA News, the organizers released a statement on its official Web site. Business tycoon Donald Trump and "Miss Universe" president Paula Shugart announced the change of date, however, they did not give a reason for the move.

In 2013, the pageant was held in November, while the 2012 edition was staged in December.

The 63rd Annual "Miss Universe" pageant was supposed to be held in 2014 but instead it will be this 2015 in Dora, Miami. As announced by its organizers, the pageant's coronation night will be aired live from Florida International University on NBC, Inquirer.net reported. The pageant will also simulcast in Spanish through Telemundo.

"Doral is a symbol of success and holding the Miss Universe Pageant here will amplify its reputation as a world showcase city," the statement said. "Even as one of the newest cities in Miami, Doral is a premier place to live, work, and play due to its beautiful lifestyle and entrepreneurial opportunities."

Meanwhile, the "Miss Universe" organizers has also announced its hosts, judges and performers.

"Miss Universe" 2014 will be hosted by Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts. The judges include Manny Pacquaio, Kristin Cavallari, William Levy, Lisa Vanderpump and Louise Roe. While Nick Jonas and Prince Royce were set to perform during the pageant's coronation night.

As the competition heats up, USA's Nia Sanchez makes her final preparations for the pageant. According to NOLA.com, Sanchez and her 88 competitors that will vie for the crown have already arrived in Doral City for the preliminary preparations.

Though rumors said that this 2015, two "Miss Universe" pageants will be held, it is still unconfirmed. But on Jan. 25, Sunday, reigning "Miss Universe" 2013 winner Gabriela Isler of Venezuela will hand over her crown during the pageant's finals, which will be held at the FIU Arena.
