NBC Stream Super Bowl: NBC Offers 11 Hours Of Free TV On Super Bowl Sunday

NBC Stream Super Bowl - NBC has announced that the upcoming Super Bowl game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will be streamed live to viewers for free, along with one episode of the hit drama series Blacklist as part of efforts to promote its TV Everywhere campaign.

The 11-hour 'Super Bowl Stream Sunday' will include NBC's pre-game coverage of the Super Bowl XLIX, as well as the Super Bowl half time show starring Katy Perry.

NBC's TV Everywhere campaign, labeled "Watch TV Without The TV," aims to bring the station's content to viewers on mobile devices.

According to the station, the 'Super Bowl Stream Sunday' will give viewers the chance to try out how the TV Everywhere service works. But NBC will not be able to broadcast over smartphones on the night as it does not have those rights.

"'Super Stream Sunday' builds off of NBCUniversal's commitment to create broader TV Everywhere opportunities for our consumers," Alison Moore, the GM and EVP of TV Everywhere and NBCUniversal, said. "We are leveraging the massive digital reach of the Super Bowl to help raise overall awareness of TV Everywhere by allowing consumers to explore our vast TVE offering with this special one-day-only access."

While viewers accessing NBC Sports Live Extra and NBC.com are usually asked for their login details, on 'Super Stream Sunday,' it will be absolutely free for anyone to join the action live. However, the station has revealed that throughout the 11 hours of free broadcast, viewers will receive messages about the TV Everywhere experience and the ease of authenticating to continue viewing the station on their desktops and tablets as subscribers.

NBC has announced that it will begin to live stream TV broadcasts to mobile devices this year in an effort to keep with the changing consumer behavior.
