Bob Hope: Home Where Legendary Entertainer Bob Hope And Wife Lived And Died Up For Sale

Bob Hope - The house where legendary entertainer Bob Hope lived for over 60 years and spent his last days has been put back on sale.

The 5.2-acre Toluca Lake property located in the San Fernando Valley where multitalented entertainer Bob Hope and his wife Dolores lived for years has been put back on the market for $23 million.

The mansion called The Hope Estate was where the entertainer died in 2003 at the age of 100. His veteran performing wife Dolores also lived her last days in the building- she died in 2011 at the age of 103.

The nearly 15,000-square-foot mansion described as the couples' 'dream house' is located at 10346 Moorpark Street just north of Universal Studios. The building was constructed in 1939 and designed by architect Richard Finkelhor. It has six bedrooms and seven bathroom.

The home was famous in the 1940s and 1950s as a venue where entertainers and politicians gathered. Richard Nixon is reported to have landed his helicopter at the backyard of the premises just to play golf with Bob Hope.

"It was redone in the 50s and every time I bring people through here people are like wow. You can't just look at the photos online you really have to come see it," said realtor Craig Strong.

Following the deaths of Bob Dolores, nobody has lived in the estate which has never been sold. Estate administrators first listed the house for sale in 2013 for $27.5 million and subsequently reduced to $21.8 million.

Today Bob Hope's children want to sell their parents' dream house. "The Moorpark house is a very special property in the Valley and something that meant a whole lot to my mother and dad," Linda Hope told the LA Times. She added that "they built what was for them a kind of dream house."
