Josh Gordon Ban: Cleveland Josh Gordon Fails Another Drug Test, Faces One Season Ban

Josh Gordon Ban - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has failed yet another NFL substance abuse drug test - and this time he really has nothing to say in his defense.

Reports indicate that Josh Gordon faces banishment for the entire 2015 season as a result of being tested positive for alcohol on Sunday.

Officials tested the 2013 All-Pro receiver for alcohol mainly because of his DWI arrest in July last year.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "Browns WR Josh flunked another drug test and now will be subject to a one-year-banishment, per league sources."

The Cleveland Browns have released a statement expressing disappointment at the news of Josh Gordon's failing a drug test and his ensuing ban.

"Clearly we are very disappointed to hear the latest report regarding Josh," the team said. "At this point due to the confidential nature of the NFL's substance abuse policy, we have not been made aware by the league of a failed test. We are in the process of gathering more information and will provide further comment at the appropriate time."

The news of the talented 23-year-old wide receiver failing yet another drug test - his fourth - is simply shocking, especially given the fact that Gordon has been serving a season-long suspension for a failed drug test, which was later reduced to 10 games last season.

After returning to the field and publicly stating that he did not have a drug problem, Gordon missed the season finale due to suspension after skipping a walk-through practice and violating team rules.

According to ProFootbalTalk, "Sources say successful appeal for Josh Gordon is unlikely at this point. One-year suspension is likely a 'done deal."

Many, including insiders and fans of the NFL, fear the latest Josh Gordon ban may be the last straw of a promising career derailed by a string of bad choices. And with all the troubles Cleveland are facing, the news of Josh Gordon ban's for an entire season is yet another blow to deal with.
