'Suicide Squad' Actor Jared Leto's Eerie Portrayal Of The Joker [WATCH VIDEO]

"Suicide Squad's" Jared Leto takes on the eeriest portrayal of Batman's arch enemy, The Joker, in an official trailer revealed at this year's Comic-con.

David Ayer, who also helmed "Fury," directed the most awaited movie adaptation of a DC comic book. This is the anti-thesis to all the superhero flicks that are coming out this year such as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"Suicide Squad" promises to give viewers a new perspective towards superheroes, since this time around, the villains are the protagonists.

The movie's plot revolves around a group of super villains who were incarcerated and some even kept in a highly secured facility, because that's how dangerous and volatile they are. They are then hired by a shady government operative to do its dirty work in exchange for their so-called "freedom."

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the action-packed trailer starts with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), an agent from a covert government agency, having a conversation with some top brass military official about recruiting "some of the most dangerous people on the planet, who I think can do some good. If anything goes wrong we blame them, we have built in deniability."

The unlikely villains, who were presented in a montage, with the background of a creepy rendition of Bee Gees' "I Started A Joke" were revealed to be Deadshot (Will Smith), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman). They have to team up and carry out their deadly missions.

CNet revealed that the best part of the "Suicide Squad" trailer was a tattoed vision of Jared Leto's The Joker grinning menacingly, while preparing to do what he's good at — inflicting pain.

The Joker promises in the clip: "I'm not gonna kill ya. I'm just gonna hurt ya, really, really bad."

NDTV Gadgets has learned that the trailer was well received by viewers.
