'Fifty Shades Darker' Cast News [PHOTOS]: 5 Actors Who Could Play Villain To Christian Grey After Henry Cavill Slammed Jack Hyde Casting Rumors

"Fifty Shades Darker" has yet to reveal the cast update for the role of Jack Hyde, who will be villain to Christian Grey.

As in the book with the same title authored by E. L. James, Jack Hyde will be introduced as the Commissioning Editor of Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP). Anastasia Steele will work for him as his assistant and that's where things will start to get interesting. If you haven't read the book then proceed with caution (spoilers ahead).

According to Design&Trend, unbeknownst to Christian and Anastasia and the rest of the characters, Jack Hyde was in the same foster home with Christian. His jealousy of Jaime Dornan's character was further fueled when the Grey family chose him for adoption. He never quite got over his resentment that it might be him enjoying Christian's place if he were the one chosen.

In the years that followed, Jack Hyde, motivated with success, graduated at Princeton University with a degree in English Literature. That's how he came about to head SIP. At SIP, he becomes sexually-obsessed with Anastasia and eventually makes a nasty move on her which Christian later learned and an altercation ensued. His anger was further triggered when Mr. Grey bought SIP and fired him.

"Fifty Shades Darker" would basically dwell on that storyline plus the revelation of Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson, Christian Grey's BDSM mentor, who will add more drama and spice to the love affair of Christian and Anastasia.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will have Jaime Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprising their roles but fans of the book and movie alike await on who will play the vital villain role of Jack Hyde. So far, as per International Business Times, "Batman v Superman" star Henry Cavill, 32, was the fan-favorite for the role of Jack Hyde, but the British actor recently slammed the rumors that he's joining "Fifty Shades Darker."

According to Entertain This!, the "Man of Steel" star said, "I'm not in 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I'm for real. I'm just messing with everyone," in response to his earlier statement on E! News.

If that denial of his turns out to be true, then viewers are left with other choices who would perfectly fit the character of Jack Hyde. Here is a list of possible actors who can give Christian Grey a run for his money.

  1. Ian Somerhalder — "The Vampire Diaries" star's smoldering look would melt you down with just a stare. Besides, he has already essayed being wicked and naughty on the hit CW series for six years, so he's got experience.

  1. Joseph Morgan — He was first introduced on "The Vampire Diaries" as the super villain Klaus, an original vampire hunting down Elena and causing havoc in Mystic Falls, and later on starred in the spin-off "The Originals." As per IMDb, his favorite personal quote is, "I've always had an incredible interest in the villains, which are a lot more fun to play." He won't have a hard time playing sinister Jack Hyde then.

  1. Tom Hiddleston — Design&Trend has pitched in Thor's nemesis Loki as a credible actor who can pull off Jack Hyde since he has a villain background which makes him an impeccable choice for the role.

  1. Jai Courtney — "Divergent" fans need no introduction for bad guy Eric. His massive built coupled with a sneer will make him an imposing figure for Anastasia Steele. According to IMDb, he plays Captain Boomerang in "Suicide Squad" which will be released in 2016.

  1. Eric Bana — the "Hulk" (2003) actor may be a little old for the role, but he exudes that raw appeal of mystery. It would be interesting how he channels Jack Hyde. The "Black Hawk Down" star currently stars in "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur" as Uther Pendragon, as per IMDb.
