‘Power Rangers’ Movie Reboot Moved To 2017? Possible Plot, Cast, Release Date & SPOILERS Revealed!

The mighty morphin "Power Rangers" will be back, not on your television screens but in theaters. Here is what you need to know about the movie reboot's possible plot, cast, release date — plus, some spoilers.

"Power Rangers" Release Date

July 16, 2016 was the initial release date of the film, but it was moved to January 13, 2017, the Movie News Guide has learned. Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, explained that they have been looking for an opportunistic dating and the film's new release date is less competitive.

"Power Rangers" Plot

Dean Israelite, who will helm the reboot, is tight-lip about the plot of the film. However, there are some potential plots already cited online, according to the Movie Pilot.

One of which is the return of Rita Repulsa. Heroic Hollywood reported that there will be a fight scene between Repulsa and Zordon at the opening sequence.

The main story will be taken from the original plot of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." This means the transformation of a group of ordinary teenagers into warriors with super powers is expected to be seen.

"Power Rangers" Cast

There are no official statements yet about the cast, but considering that the film is less than 24 months away, it can be safely assumed that casting is underway. Big names came out and was rumored to take significant roles.

They are Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Liam Hemsworth and Elizabeth Olsen.
