iPhone 7 Rumors, Design & Release Date: Next iPhone Model To Sport Unsavory Feature of Predecessors? Apple Depending On New Handset To Boost Profits

Although Apple's next iPhone model is expected to sport new features such as Force Touch technology, a new report claims it will still come with the same less-desirable traits of its predecessors.

According to The Week, like other iPhone versions, the upcoming iPhone 7 might still feature the plastic strip spanning the rear casing of the device. The site noted that despite being made of aluminum, the casings of smartphones still need this plastic feature in order to allow radio waves to penetrate through.

iPhone fans received a bit of good news in June after an article by Tech Radar stated that Apple is working on a new design element that could eliminate this plastic strip, which is located directly above and below the handset's main camera.

The site reported that Apple recently submitted a patent filing for a smartphone component made from metal oxides. Although this part will still have the properties of metal, it will not block out radio frequencies.

Of course, with this technology, the company will finally be able to get rid of the casing's plastic strip. However, since the patent was filed only a couple of months ago, this does not give Apple enough time to incorporate the new design technology to the iPhone 7, which is expected to be unveiled in September.

But, despite this unsavory design aspect, Apple still remains as the top manufacturer of smartphone, beating the likes of Samsung and Microsoft in terms of brand loyalty of consumers.

Although the company is currently sitting on top of the tech industry, there is still a lot of pressure from investors regarding the sales performance of Apple's next iPhone device.

According to 247 Wall St, Apple reported revenue of $49.6 billion during the recent quarter, which is $10.7 billion more than what the company earned last year during the same period.

The company's financial success is partly due to its smartphone sales, despite the iPhone 6 being released almost a year ago. Due to the popularity of its flagship handsets, investors of the company are expecting Apple to do better this year especially with the looming release of the iPhone 7.

Last year, during the first week of the iPhone 6's release, Apple sold 10 million units. This time, in order to keep investors happy and maintain their trust, the company has to sell at least 12 or 13 million iPhone 7 units within days after its release. If the company fails to do so, its share price could drop.
