‘Regression’ Actress Emma Watson Talks About Struggles With Love Life After Breakup With Matt Janney

Emma Watson, following her breakup with Matthew Janney, admitted in her recent interview with Vogue U.K. for its September 2015 issue that she had struggled with her love life in general.

Watson said her past boyfriends made her feel "cherished." However, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" actress thought that her difficulties with dating has something to do with guys finding her intimidating.

Since she appeared as Hermione in the famous "Harry Potter" series, she has achieved so much. Her fame and fortune in Hollywood did not stop her from continuing her studies at Oxford and Brown University.

On top of that, Watson got involved in the United Nations as Women's Ambassador of Goodwill. It appears that she is successful in all her endeavors — acting, studies and politics — except love life.

"I certainly haven't found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I've struggled in my love life," the "Harry Potter" star said during her interview.

"I just think it's very patronizing towards men," she continued. "It undermines them."

She said that she took a weeklong vow of silence even before her relationship ended. She admitted that it felt uncomfortable, so she went to a silent retreat to figure out how to be at home with herself, People learned.

It was in December 2014 when she and Janney broke up, according to E! News. The "Noah" actress described the split as horrendous.

Watson reportedly went to a private facility in Canada's Rocky Mountains. The name of the facility was not disclosed, but residents who stays there are required to stay silent for a week.

They were first linked in January 2014, after being seen having a PDA during their Caribbean vacay. Despite the heartache, the English model bounced back and is now ready to face new challenges.

Part of it is her new movie "Regression" with Ethan Hawke. It is a psycho-thriller film which centers around a case of a man who sexually abused his daughter, but doesn't have a recollection of the event.

Watson plays Andrea Gray, the sexually abused daughter, while Hawke plays Bruce Kenner, the detective assigned to the case.

The film is slated to be released on Aug. 28, as per IMDb.
