After the Beckhams were questioned over their daughter's pacifier use, protective dad David Beckham slammed the critics of his 4-year-old daughter, Harper. On Monday, the 40-year-old football superstar told his child critics that they have no right to criticize him and his wife as parents if they don't know all the details.
David Beckham is not just furious over the criticisms that were directed to his daughter Harper's pacifier use in the report run by Daily Mail on Sunday. He was also angry when the publication questioned his and wife Victoria Beckham's parenting skills. In the article with a picture of Harper in West Hollywood with David, it claimed that Harper could suffer from "speech or dental issues."
"Experts warn David and Victoria Beckham's little girl may end up with 'speech or dental issues' if she continues to use one," Daily Mail wrote on its Sunday's edition, CNN quoted.
Daily Mail also quoted a statement from a late night parenting expert who claimed that the Beckhams were putting their daughter's well-being at risk, The Guardian reported.
"I can't believe she is still using a dummy," nurse and midwife Clare Byam-Cook stated. "If she has a dummy in their mouth at this age, at four, it really can damage her teeth and it is very likely to hinder speech development."
Due to the unwarranted criticisms, David Beckham took to Instagram and express his dismay about the article. He did not only clarify why his daughter Harper was still using a pacifier, but he also slammed the publication for questioning him as a dad, E! News noted.
"Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts??" Beckham wrote on Instagram together with the screengrab of the article. "Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier so those who criticize think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticize me as a parent..."
Meanwhile, David Beckham has been a devoted husband to his wife Victoria and a doting dad to his four children —16-year-old Brooklyn, 12-year-old Romeo, 10-year-old Cruz and his only princess, 4-year-old Harper. And just recently he paid tribute to his youngest child by getting another tattoo in her honor, with the words "pretty lady" above the tat of his daughter's name near his neck.
