Blizzard Hiring Art Director For Mystery Project; ‘Diablo III’ Expansion Pack Or ‘Diablo IV’ In The Works?

A job listing posted on Blizzard Entertainment's website strongly suggests that the company might be working on a new expansion pack for "Diablo III" or even a sequel.

According to the post, the development studio is currently looking for an art director who will work alongside a team of game artists, designers and engineers.

Blizzard, however, only mentioned that the successful job applicant will be assigned to work on a currently unannounced project.

Although the company did not directly mention that the new art director will handle a new DLC project for "Diablo 3," Blizzard noted that it would be helpful if the applicant is a big fan of the "Diablo" game series, IGN reported.

"A passion for games with a deep understanding of the 'Diablo' franchise," the studio wrote in the job listing.

Of course, aside from being passionate about the franchise and other games, applicants should also have the necessary technical skills in order to be considered for the position, according to Nerdist.

"The ideal candidate possesses inspiring artistic vision, outstanding communications skills, strong leadership experience and a proven track record of shipping AAA products in an art director role," Blizzard stated.

"Experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments and a solid grasp of form, color and light for both 2D and 3D art assets are also essential," the studio continued.

"Diablo III" first came out in 2012 for the Microsoft Windows followed by a version for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 a year later. Then, in 2014, Blizzard released ports of the game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The first expansion pack for the game, titled "Reaper of Souls," was released last year. Since then, Blizzard has not yet released a new DLC for the game.

Also, during Gamescom 2015, Blizzard announced news for many of its major titles such as "Starcraft II," "World of Warcraft" and "Overwatch," Gamespot has learned. However, there were no updates for the "Diablo" series during the event.

But based on the company's job ad, it seems Blizzard is working on a secret project related to the franchise. Hopefully, more details about this project, which could either be a second DLC or even "Diablo IV," will be unveiled in November during the company's annual Blizzcon event.
