How Much Is Donald Sterling’s Net Worth Amid TMZ And Ex-GF V. Stiviano Lawsuit? Billionaire Also Sues Ex-Wife Shelly Sterling Over Dementia And Inability To Handle Business Claims

Donald Sterling, the real estate billionaire who has an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion, has earned notoriety after the NBA banned him for his racist remarks in 2014. The NBA ban came after an audiotape of Sterling's racial slurs leaked on TMZ's website.

For several decades, Donald Sterling has amassed his multibillion net worth by buying mostly worn-out and shabby apartment buildings in Los Angeles. He also owns properties in Orange County, San Diego and Las Vegas and advertises heavily in the L.A. Times. Unfortunately, his racist audiotape controversy seemed to have dented his fortune after NBA fined him $2.5 million along with the lifetime ban.

Now, Donald Sterling is suing TMZ and his ex-girlfriend V. Stiviano over the leaked racial comment recording that cost him the ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers, which he bought for $12.5 million in 1981. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court accused the celebrity website and Stiviano of privacy violation, which caused a huge magnitude of damage on Sterling.

Sterling's lawsuit came after gaining a bad reputation when his racial slurs leaked online in April 2014. In the audiotape, Donald Sterling, who has a $2.9 billion net worth as Forbes listed, was heard telling Stiviano that she shouldn't associate with black people. The Guardian has learned that his racist comments resulted to the NBA to ban him from the league. It also led Sterling's estranged wife, Shelly, to sell the family trust-owned team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.

Shelly Sterling, who won court approval for the sale by showing that her husband had dementia and was unable to handle business affairs, is also being sued. Aside from his wife, Donald is also suing the league and the two doctors who examined him, claiming of conspiracy so they could remove him from the team.

Donald Sterling's recordings, which caused a firestorm of criticism, surfaced just weeks after Shelly Sterling sued Stiviano, claiming she was her husband's mistress. And the latest suit came two days after Donald filed for divorce from his wife just weeks shy prior to their 60th anniversary.

Meanwhile, Donald Sterling has an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion as of May 2015 as The Richest listed.

So will Donald Sterling's latest lawsuit against TMZ, his ex-girlfriend and his estranged wife affect his more than two billion-dollar net worth?
