Utah Court Sentences Emile Hirsch Of 15 Days Behind Bars After Pleading Guilty For Blindsiding Paramount Executive

"Into The Wild" actor Emile Hirsch is facing a 15-day imprisonment after pleading guilty for blindsiding Paramount Digital Vice President Daniele Bernfeld in a drunken rampage on Jan. 25 at TAO nightclub in Park City. On Monday, the 30-year-old actor faced justice on the felony and misdemeanor charges against him.

Just six days after the premiere of "Ten Thousand Saints" in Los Angeles, Emile Hirsch was back in Park City on Aug. 17 for the verdict of his alleged assault to Bernfeld. According to Deadline, Hirsch got a shorter jail term of 15 days instead of a 5-year sentence behind bars after pleading guilty. He will also pay $4,750 with 90 days probation and 50 hours of community service. He has also to attend "aftercare" sessions.

In the event that Emile Hirsch fails to meet all the designated requirements, he will be sent to jail for a year. But if he meets all the criteria, the charge will be dropped.

Telling the court on Monday, Emile Hirsch said there is "no excuse" for his behavior, which was "wrong" and "reckless." He also offered Bernfeld, who said Hirsch deserved stricter punishment for his actions in a statement read in court on her behalf, an apology, Variety noted.

At the time of the incident, Bernfeld thought she was going to die. As per the court documents, an intoxicated Hirsch approached her at about 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 25 and grabbed her. And during a separate encounter, he pulled her across a table and onto the floor. He then landed on top of her and allegedly put her in a chokehold.

"I was subjected to a violent and unprovoked attack by a complete stranger," Bernfeld said in her court statement, New York Post's Page Six quoted. "The defendant, Emile Hirsch, put me in a chokehold, pulled me off my feet and threw me on the floor. With the full force of his weight, he choked me until I blacked out. It took two people to pull him off me, and if not for their intervention, the attack would have continued. I thought I was going to die."

Hirsch's lawyer previously said that the "Lone Survivor" star was too intoxicated at the party to remember the encounter and assault.

"Emile consumed an enormous amount of alcohol on the evening in question and he has no memory of what happened," Hirsch's lawyer, Robert Offer, said in statement in mid-February.

Shortly after the incident, Emile Hirsch checked into and has completed a stint in rehab, CBS News has learned.
