NBC's newest drama, "Blindspot," has attracted a lot of attention lately. While the network has a lot of new shows to premiere this fall, many are fascinated and excited with this particular series since it is about a woman covered in tattoos, which is a map of clues that could solve a crime.
So, here are 5 intriguing details we compiled about NBC's upcoming drama "Blindspot."
1. Cast
"Blindspot," the upcoming television drama series will feature "Thor" actress Jaimie Alexander as Jane Doe and "300: Rise of an Empire" star Sullivan Stapleton as FBI Agent Kurt Weller. Also joining them are Audrey Esparza ("Black Box") as Tasha Zapata, Rob Brown ("Treme") as Edgar Reed, Marianne Jean-Baptiste ("Without a Trace") as FBI director Bethany Mayfair, Ukweli Roach ("The Royals") as Dr. Borden and Ashley Johnson ("Critical Role") as Dr. Patterson.
Alexander's character will flaunt some pretty extraordinary skills, which Jane Doe is unaware of how she acquired them,
"I speak about 13 different languages -- not really - just, of course, whatever I'm saying in the episode that I'm saying it," Alexander told Access Hollywood. "I learned how to fire several different weapons, how to clear a house, how to clear a room, which is kind of intense to think there's men and women over there doing that kind of stuff."
The lead actress also added that she underwent some Navy SEAL training for the part.
"I learned how to swim. I did not know how to swim that well, so now I can Navy dive and move through water without making many waves and just all kinds of crazy stuff," she added.
2. Plot
NBC's "Blindspot" will depict the story of a mysterious tattooed woman, Jane Doe, who has lost her memory and does not know her own identity. She's found in a duffel in New York's Times Square naked and covered with cryptic tattoos. She will be drawn to Agent Weller, whose name was inked on her back. And as the FBI begins to investigate her tattoos, they are drawn to a map of clues that might solve a crime and ultimately change the world.
3. Release Date
"Blindspot" is set to premiere on Monday, Sept. 21, at 10 p.m. on NBC, Fashion & Style noted. The pilot episode was directed by Mark Pellington from "Cold Case." The series creators are Martin Gero from "Dark Matter" and "Arrow" and "The Flash" co-creator Greg Berlanti. Sarah Schechter of "The Flash" and Sarah Rath of "Silicon Valley" also serve as producers.
4. Attracting a particularly high level of attention in China?
"Blindspot" has attracted viewers in China. The reason? Alexander's character speaks fluent Chinese. As per Quartz, Jane Doe does not only speak standard Mandarin Chinese but Wenzhouhua, a famously tricky dialect from the southeast that is linked in Chinese.
