"Teen Mom 2" fans just couldn't contain their emotion when troubled mom Leah Messer was given the downer by ex-husband Corey Simms and wife Miranda. Messer, who met with the couple in hopes of creating with a feasible setup while she's away from her kids and rehabilitating, didn't get the response she was after.
In last night's episode of MTV's reality series, Leah Messer was put under the microscope as she revealed that she's headed to a treatment facility to cure her addiction to drugs. The episode was mostly depressing for Messer, specially when ex-husband Corey and his wife Miranda rubbed it in that Leah's rehabilitation may not be able to rid her of substance abuse problem.
"Do you think that after you go to this rehab you'll be able to be better?" Miranda asked Leah in the latest "Teen Mom 2" episode, as per Us Weekly. Messer then defended herself by insisting that she was not "a bad mom" and that there was actually "no drug problem." Upon hearing this however, Corey remarked, "I think I know that there's a drug problem and I think you're afraid to tell me."
Later in the episode, Corey gave another painful remark against the mother of his kids when he said, "The rumor around town she takes anything she can get her damn hands on."
Following the episode, many fans took to the show's official Facebook page to slam Corey and his wife for what they did to the struggling mom.
"I'm a step mom and feel Corey's wife is over stepping and talking down to Leah She needs to let Corey and Leah work it out and then just be a great step mom for the kids," Heather McIntyre Coon wrote.
Facebook user Melissa Baker commented, "How about offer to HELP her instead of putting her down?! It's clear she's struggling. She needs support. Threatening to take the girls isn't help or support."
Meanwhile, Michelle Renee Bean gave her opinion on the issue writing, "She's asking for help and they're putting her down?!?! If she was on drugs she certainly wouldn't be comfortable saying so. Miranda needs to shut her mouth. Leah has had her share of problems and she cheated but let's not forget Corey had her bathing those babies in a basement tub not even correctly connected to plumbing, Leah had to kill spiders before she could bathe them and Corey is buying a new truck!"
Bean added, "Leah obviously needs help and she is at least seeking help. Corey and Miranda only want the fame and to make Leah look bad. They already forced her to have a drug test and she passed."
Nevertheless, it's good that Leah still has her mom Dawn by her side. In her heartbreaking departure from her daughters, MTV reported that Leah was overcome with emotion when she said, "I have mixed emotions — I have to leave my babies for a month, and I haven't cried yet. But I know I have to do this for them."
"Teen Mom 2" airs on MTV every Thursday night at 10 p.m. EDT.
