"Teen Mom 2" star Chelsea Houska has got great things going on for her. Despite splitting from baby daddy Adam Lind, the reality TV star has found a great man in the person of hottie Cole DeBoer. Plus, what's good about this relationship is the fact that Chelsea's daughter Aubree approves of it. But is the 5-year-old ready to call her mom's new lover "dad?"
MTV's "Teen Mom 2" dropped a teaser clip on Facebook Monday night featuring Houska's narrative, and it shows Chelsea talking to her daughter to meet and hangout with her pals. The mom of one opened up to her friends about her relationship with Cole, and she also did not forget to spill the deets when it comes to her little Aubree's relationship with Cole.
Toward the end of the sneak peek, Chelsea asks her little girl if it's fine to share what she told her mom about Cole. "She said that she wants to call him 'dad' when he moves in," Chelsea tells her friends in the teaser clip.
Fans were quick to react to the revelation that will be featured in full detail in "Teen Mom 2" season 6 episode 9. Most were pleased with little Aubree's decision while some pointed out that it was too early for Chelsea's daughter.
"It's up to Aubree. It would be a different story if she was being made to call him dad, but she isnt! She wants to!" a Brittany Linkous wrote.
Another fan named Sarah Coleman commented, "Let Aubree call Cole dad. Dad's aren't defined by blood, they're defined by the bond and relationship built. After all he is the dad figure in the picture and Aubree is just trying to create that family picture."
On the other hand, some fans didn't consider this as appropriate, with Facebook user Ashley Fusinki writing, "I love Chelsea & her parenting. But I don't think that she should call cole, dad. She has a dad & whether no one likes him or not...he loves aubree & is trying. If it was the other way around...you wouldn't want Aubrey to call Adams girlfriend mom. A child has one mom & one dad. I'm a stepmom myself & never would want him to call me mom. It's just out of respect to the parent."
Meanwhile, Chelsea, who turned 24 on Aug. 29, may have been spoiled by her new beau, whom she said she met at a gas station in an interview with Us Weekly in July.
On Sunday, the "Teen Mom 2" star took to Instagram to thank DeBoer for the gifts she received. She posted a photo showing a cake with lit candles and behind it is a Louis Vuitton bag, OK! magazine has learned.
On the same day, Cole shared a cute snap of him and his ladylove donning sunglasses and smiling for a selfie. He captioned the photo: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful girlfriend @chelseahouska I couldn't be more lucky to have someone so genuine and caring. Wishing you the best today, love you."
