Giada De Laurentiis, an Italian-American chef with a $20 million net worth, is now officially divorced. The Food Network star and her fashion designer husband, Todd Thompson, had announced their divorce in December 2014 following their amicable separation in July of that same year.
Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson, who both are independently wealthy with equally impressive net worth values, are finally going solo after 11 years of marriage. According to People, the ex-couple will share joint custody of their 7-year-old daughter, Jade Marie.
Unfortunately, De Laurentiis' divorce has been quite expensive since no prenuptial agreement had been signed prior to her marriage to Thompson. And as stated in the divorce documents, the 45-year-old Food Network chef has been ordered to pay her ex $9,000 monthly for child support.
The divorce papers of multimillion net worth earner Giada De Laurentiis also included the details of how the exes have divided their assets. E! News revealed that Thompson gets to keep their $3.2 million Pacific Palisades mansion, which included more than $300,000 worth of furniture and artwork.
Moreover, Thompson also keeps his membership at the Bel-Air Bay Club as well as 50 percent of all of De Laurentiis' net book royalties she published during their marriage. De Laurentiis was also ordered to give Thompson 50 percent of the unpaid advances to several cookbooks that are currently underway, which are valued for over $5 million, Yahoo! Celebrity reported. He also gets to keep his Porsche.
The ex-couple are also dividing up various bank accounts worth more than $2 million. So, does this mean that Giada De Laurentiis is stepping away from her marriage empty handed?
Giada De Laurentiis, who has an estimated net worth of $20 million as per Celebrity Net Worth, will keep all of the rights to her soon-to-be released and currently untitled Italian cookbook as well as her own production company, Linguine Pictures, plus her own Porsche.
Since both are equally rich, Todd Thompson and Giada De Laurentiis, whose net worth are $15 million and $20 million respectively, are not getting any spousal support.
