iPhone 7: How Thin Is Apple’s Newest & ‘Thinnest’ Smartphone Yet?

iPhone 7 is the upcoming iteration from the smartphone line of Cupertino-based tech giant Apple. Prior the fanfare for its unveiling, many Apple fans and critics are still wondering if the tech company trimmed down the width of the device.

The hype over new iPhones increase each year as Apple tries to outplay its previous releases with bolder and thinner handsets. It's no different in the case of the iPhone 7, which is expected to be officially called the iPhone 6S.

The big question that everyone wants to know however as per Fortune is, "How thin can a smartphone reasonably get?"

The answer could stun many people since Apple and its partners have reportedly worked together in making an iPhone iteration that's just 6 millimeters in width. This thickness, or technically thinness, is quite outstanding since it's going to beat its predecessors and most flagship devices in the market today.

The new iPhone is slated to be the thinnest mobile device from Apple yet, so it is reportedly thinner than the iPad Air 2 and iPad Touch, according to AppleInsider. It could even be thinner than the iPad Pro, which is reportedly going to be 7 millimeters in width.

However, one big issue that fans and critics is anticipating is the possibility of the phone compromising other aspects because of its really thin body.

The iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S will reportedly be unveiled during Apple's Sept. 9 event. In late August, Apple sent out invitations to the special event which has the tagline "Hey Siri, give us a hint," PCAdvisor has learned. Apart from the iPhone 7, the iPad Pro is also rumored to be showcased at the big event.
