'Gotham' Season 2 Back-To-Back [SPOILERS]: New Clips Tease Gordon Getting Termed; Cobblepot Wants Something In Return For Cop's Favor [WATCH]

"Gotham" season 2 is fast approaching, and as it does, Fox is also fueling up the fans' excitement with teaser clips. A few days ago, the snippet centered on Barbara Kean, played by Erin Richards, who's now in the Arkham prison with Jerome Valeska, played by Cameron Monaghan.

"Gotham" season 2's new teaser footage now focuses on Jim Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie and Oswald Cobblepot, played by Robin Lord Taylor.

This first clip showing Gordon getting fired from his job at GCPD was exclusively reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Viewers will see Police Commissioner Loeb, played by Peter Scolari, on the scene ordering Captain Essen, played by Zabryna Guevara, to get Gordon's badge and gun.

In the video, Gordon's surprised expression was quite notable when he heard the commissioner say, "It worked for your partner, Bullock." He left the office after telling the commissioner, "I told you I'd break you... I will."

How are the two clips connected?

The second footage, which was exclusively accessed by the Entertainment Weekly, showed Gordon running to Cobblepot for a favor. Cobblepot, who's believed to be Penguin, seemed surprised when the cop told him he owed him one.

Well, it seems that Cobblepot already knew what he wanted, but "Gotham's" villain will not just give out anything without something in return, right? It turns out Penguin wanted Gordon to prove that their friendship is genuine.

"Gotham" season 2 will be bringing more thrills to the viewers as it welcomes a plethora of villainous characters, whose backstories will be eventually unraveled. There's Clayface, Mad Hatter, Theo Galavan and Tigress, plus Mr. Freeze is also expected to make an appearance.

In addition, showrunner Bruno Heller said that the beginning of "Gotham" season 2 will show the earliest origins of how Batman's famous nemesis came to be, Cheat Sheet reported.

"Gotham" season 2 "Rise of the Villains" premieres on Sept. 21 on Fox.
