‘Under The Dome’ Season 3 Episode 13 [SPOILERS]: Fans Demand Proper Finale Ending Following CBS Show’s Cancellation; Carnage Looms As Dome Comes Down?

Ever since the announcement of "Under the Dome's" cancellation, fans of the hit CBS sci-fi drama series have expressed their mixed reactions. While the series, which was based on Stephen King's novel of the same title, debuted with a large strong audience and earned positive reviews, the modifications of its plot led to the ratings' sharp decline.

"Under the Dome" became an instant hit when it was first launched three years ago. Unfortunately, its Season 3 Episode 13 will be the show's final episode since it will not be picked up for a fourth season, TV.com revealed.

In "Under the Dome" Season 3 Episode 13 trailer, Barbie (Mike Vogel) and Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) are seen falling in a large pit. While Junior (Alexander Koch) and Big Jim (Dean Norris) are both seen fighting Sam (Eddie Cahill), whereas the military suddenly emerges to take over the town after the dome comes down. Latino Post noted that the Chester Mills' residents are also seen making final attempts to stop the queen from infecting the people outside the dome since she had already killed the third season's main antagonist, Christine, during the previous episode.

As "Under the Dome" Season 3 Episode 13 follows the struggles of Chester Mills' residents, who were trapped inside an indestructible Dome that isolates them from the rest of the world, will there be an explanation regarding the origins of the Dome as the story reaches its final conclusion?

"When the Dome comes down, many questions about its origin and power will be answered, as two groups of residents engage in one final conflict that some won't survive," CBS revealed. While CBS Chairman Nina Tassler added, "The story comes full circle, with the Dome coming down as dramatically as it went up."

Unfortunately, not all of viewers were sad that "Under the Dome" was cancelled. Some even expressed their relief as they were frustrated when the series' script went off the rails on Stephen King's original book plotline. According to Christian Post, the popularity of the show decreased when the story changes based on the writers' re-imagination of the Dome's origin.

"Under The Dome has been cancelled. Thank the Lord! That show makes my brain hurt. It should have ended after the first season," a fan said. While another wrote on its Facebook page, "I just want a proper ending. Could you give me that CBS? You've already ended it. Just kill them all or let the dome come down but give me something."

Meanwhile, as some "Under the Dome" fans hated the modifications, original author Stephen King explained that those changes were approved and have been needed.

"Many of the changes... have been of necessity, and I approved of them wholeheartedly," King said, as per Inquisitr. "Some have been occasioned by their plan to keep the Dome in place over Chester's Mill for months instead of little more than a week, as is the case in the book. Other story modifications are slotting into place because the writers have completely re-imagined the source of the Dome."
