‘ANTM’ Cycle 22: Was Ava Capra Eliminated For Not Bringing Drama To Episode 6 ‘The Girl Who Gets Possessed?’

Nope! It wasn't Hadassah who got axed in this week's episode of "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 22. Shockingly, it was Ava Capra, the flower child who managed to win best photo early in the modelling competition. So how does one go from top to being eliminated in a few weeks time?

This week, Tyra Banks' hit CW series aired a new episode, and the remaining 11 models had a very challenging high-fashion shoot. They were made to wear blue contact lenses and dangle in the air while trying their best to look possessed to embody high-fashion exorcism... if that's even a thing.

So far in the competition, some models have been consistent in failing to deliver the goods. Hadassah, fans are looking at you. However, episode 6 proved to be a game changer for everyone with deaf model Nyle, who has been consistently appearing in the middle of the scoreboard, winning the challenge and acing the photoshoot.

During the first half of the episode, the models were tasked to work in pairs and groups and develop their own tagline for a creative design shoot. Nyle, whose partner was Justin, won the challenge after following Kelly Cutrone's suggestion of going shirtless while posing with his partner and guest model Whitney Thompson. It was the first challenge win for Nyle, according to BuddyTV.

Meanwhile, Ava, whose partner was Hadassah, struggled to give a good show to the camera and prove to everyone that she can't do sassy. She admitted that the in-house drama may have gotten into her system, making her uncomfortable and unable to focus.

Well, the in-house drama also got a little intense with Mame and Hadassah, who may appear to be competing for the queen pageant model title, engaging in a nasty confrontation. Good thing Justin came to the rescue and even held a meeting in hopes of fixing whatever it really was that's going on between the two girls. Unfortunately, it didn't help as Hadassah and Mame just agreed not to agree, CelebDirtyLaundy has learned.

The weekly photoshoot came and the model hopefuls were tasked to look and act possessed in front of the camera, with Yu Tsai directing them on what to do. The shoot took a toll on almost everyone including the creative consultant, except for Nyle who may have finally come out of his shell after winning the challenge. And indeed, Nyle's confidence shows in his photo, which made him land best photo in "ANTM" Cycle 22 episode 6.

As for the rest, the judges haunted them with feedback. Miss J told Justin that he's sporting the same face every week, while Courtney's photo failed to impress the judges. Then, there's Ava Capra who, according to Tyra, looked like a housewife at panel. As if that wasn't enough to crush her confidence, Tyra told the lively flower girl that she looked constipated in her photo. Miss J even said that Ava could have done better had she been more involved in the shoot.

When it came to the elimination, Nyle, Lacey and Mame were the first three to be spared for nailing their exorcism shoot. Hadassah, who may have been struggling the past weeks, landed fourth and next to her in-house enemy. Justin, Devin, Ashley and Mikey were also safe from elimination. The bottom three were Bello, Courtney and Ava, and Bello was spared leaving the two girls at the bottom. In the end Ava was the one who was sent home, while Courtney, who was a first-timer at the bottom of the scoreboard, got another chance to prove herself.

On the show's official Facebook page, many fans couldn't contain their emotion over Ava's elimination. Giannis Stasinopoulos wrote: "I feel so awful for Ava! That came out of nowhere! I was shocked! HOW?"

Then, there were also fans who claimed that Ava's exit may have been due to the fact that the show is starting to become a reality series instead of being a modelling competition.

Margareth Michelina commented: "Why they eliminated the good contestant who has a good potential but keep the contestants who just want create the drama? Because rating! This is so bulls-t!"

Facebook user Manuel Rivero Ninacevich seconded saying: "I agree with Margareth. IT is about rating! I am starting to believe that ANTM is just so fake. Ava and Courtney deserve to continue, Bello was supposed to be sent home."
