Stripe Introduces Easier Way For Mobile Shopping; Relay Allows Simple In-app Buy & Sell

Stripe would like to make shopping on mobile devices as easy as one, two and three. Using Relay, merchants can now make in-app transactions, and Twitter, which has been experimenting allowing traders to sell products via tweets, is included.

This API connects with the existing inventory of the sellers, according to Engadget. This means that they can make a single list of their products because as long as they use Relay, the listed items will show up.

What it means for the buyers is being able to purchase a merchandise without going through an obstacle of being redirected other mobile sites. The payment information used previously with Relay and Stripe can be used in Twitter.

It isn't just Twitter though. According to a blog post of Stripe, Pinterest, Spring and a few more companies have been working to bring this type of experience to e-commerce over the past year.

"It's like an obstacle course before people can give you money," Patrick Collison, co-founder of Stripe, explained said during a presentation, which happened just today in San Francisco as per Wired.

Normally, mobile web shopping can be time consuming. For example, a person sees something he likes in a tweet, and perhaps it has a link, so he clicks it then a new browser opens up.

Or, he might as well open up a new browser and search the item in Google. The common process in online buying entails the person to add the item to the cart, enter the credit number, address and whatever information is needed to process any shipments.

"Relay makes it easier for developers to build great mobile e-commerce experiences and for stores to participate in them," Stripe said, noted by USA Today.

Stripe is a digital payment company founded by the Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison four years ago.
