'Deadpool' Second Movie In The Works? Ryan Reynolds To Join Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit' To Have Continuity With 'X-Men' Universe

"Deadpool" may have been slated for a Feb. 2016 release, but its sequel is reportedly being considered, GameSpot learned. Additionally, there are emerging reports saying that Ryan Reynolds is joining Channing Tatum's "Gambit" as it crosses over to "X-Men" universe.

Producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that they began talking about the ideas for the sequel of "Deadpool." However, he clarified that he was not aware of any studio decisions made for the follow-up film, according to Collider.

"We certainly are talking about the sequel-we were talking about the sequel while we were making the movie just because when you make a film like this that's from a serialized source material, you hope that it's the first of many," Kinberg said.

"But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we're all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel," he continued.

Compared with other superhero films, "Deadpool" reportedly has a lesser budget. There are speculations that the sequel may not push through, but it the movie is well-received by Marvel and non-Marvel fans, then why not, right?

Kinberg said they are talking about the sequel, but knows, right? There may still be changes, so it is still best to wait for the official statement pertaining to "Deadpool 2."

Meanwhile, Kinberg said that there are plans for a crossover between "Deadpool," "Gambit" and "X-Men," as per the report of Comicbook.com. He said that the idea was that they have reset the timeline after the "X-Men: Days of Future Past," and if it was not erased, it will allow changes with the "X1," "X2" and onwards.

"Gambit movie, the Deadpool movie, will exist in a world that acknowledges whatever happened in Days of Future Past and moving forward," he told MTV News.

"There will be interplay between different characters in different movies," he added.
