A Glimpse Into Jackie Collins’ Net Worth As She Succumbed To Breast Cancer At The Age Of 77

Jackie Collins, who had an estimated net worth of $180 million, was one of the world's bestselling writers who sold over 500 million book copies worldwide. Unfortunately, she died on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the age of 77 after battling breast cancer for six-and-a-half years.

Jackie Collins' net worth has currently piqued the curiosity of her legions of fans as reports of her death circulated on Saturday night. According to Celebrity Net Worth, she amassed her fortune as an English-American novelist who had written 32 novels, all of which were on The New York Times bestsellers' list. Eight of her novels have been adapted for the screen, either as movies or television mini-series.

Considered as one of the richest authors in the United Kingdom with $180 million net worth, Jackie Collins began writing as a teenager. Based on a biography posted on her official website, she made racy tales for her schoolmates. She wrote her first novel titled, "The World is Full of Married Men," in 1968. It became a scandalous bestseller, which was banned in Australia and South Africa.

Meanwhile, Jackie Collins was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer six-and-a-half years ago, BBC News noted. She had kept her illness a secret from everyone except her closest family members including her three daughters - 54-year-old Tracy, 48-year-old Tiffany and 46-year-old Rory.

"I did it my way, as Frank Sinatra would say," Jackie Collins told People six days before her death. "I've written five books since the diagnosis, I've lived my life, I've travelled all over the world, I have not turned down book tours and no one has ever known until now when I feel as though I should come out with it. Looking back, I'm not sorry about anything I did. Now I want to save other people's lives."

Nine days before her death, Jackie Collins had flown from Los Angeles to London to appear on the ITV chat show, "Loose Women," Daily Mail revealed. But eventually, she succumbed to the disease on Saturday and her family said she lived "a wonderfully full life."

"It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today," Collins' family statement read. "She lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for over four decades. She was a true inspiration, a trail blazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but we already miss her beyond words."

With her books still out in the market, Jackie Collins' net worth will definitely continue to increase despite her death.
