‘Scorpion’ Season 2 [LATEST SPOILERS]: Romance To Put Team Scorpion At Risk? Walter Freaks Out Over Paige’s Revelation Of Unconscious Kiss

Romance is in the air as "Scorpion" Season 2 returns on television on Monday night. But as Paige (Katharine McPhee) and Walter (Elyes Gabel) finally found the courage to confess their emotions toward each other, they will be tested on whether to have or not have a relationship.

Team Scorpion is back in "Scorpion" Season 2 after the Homeland Security summoned them on an urgent case. However, Paige and Walter will have some awkward moments after she revealed that she kissed him at the hospital while he was unconscious. After knowing about the kiss, Walter freaks out privately.

"That [knowledge] will reverberate emotionally but on a deep level throughout that episode when he realizes what exactly happened in that hospital room," executive producer Nick Santora told TVGuide. While EP Nick Wootton added, "It will culminate in that episode [with] a much more cognizant kiss between the two characters. We're going fully conscious on this one. This kiss won't be so much of a crime."

Aside from Paige and Walter's love story, "Scorpion" Season 2 will also delve into the complexities of other budding relationships in Team Scorpion particularly Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Happy (Jadyn Wong) as well as Sylvester (Ari Stidham) and Megan (Camille Guaty) relationships. But the question is — Will romance put the team at risk?

"The team has always lived by the idea of the greater good," Santora said. "Does [a romance] fall into the category of the greater good or does it put Scorpion at risk?"

Meanwhile, "Scorpion" Season 2 cast members will also embark on more action-filled adventures. According to CBS News, the stunts, the challenges and the drama are all getting intense this season.

"There's just a lot more action — and — more comedy," McPhee said. "It's been really fun to work on the show with it being more just light-hearted. And I think everyone in the cast is enjoying the comedy side of the show ... We are a drama but we're kind of more of a dramedy meets action meets procedural."

While "Scorpion" Season 2 mainly focuses on Paige and Walter's love story, Carter Matt revealed that the supporting characters are also going to have more than a little bit of "great material in their own right."

Don't forget to watch "Scorpion" Season 2 as it premieres with a 90-minute episode on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. on CBS. It will follow "Supergirl's" premiere on the same network.
