2016 Toyota Tacoma Dominates Sales, Declared Best In Segment, Trumps Nearest Competitor Chevy Colorado

The 2016 Toyota Tacoma, along with leftovers from its previous model, are dominating the sales figures of its segment.

According to Your Single Source For News, in just the first month of its launch, the two models of the Toyota Tacoma outpaced its nearest competitors, the GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado.

As for the specific figures, the Toyota Tacoma sold 11,165 units in September alone, while the Colorado and the Canyon sold 7,334 and 2332 units respectively, a clear evidence of the Toyota mid-size truck's dominance in the mid-size truck market.

The Nissan Frontier, another rival to the Tacoma, was reported to be taking a big sales hit as it only managed to sell 4,617 units this month. A clear 32 percent decrease compared to its last year's figure.

However, in a related report by TFL Truck, the Toyota Tacoma also took a sales dip of its own as the truck was reported to have lost about 6.9 percent of its sales this September, when compared to its last year's figure.

But many are still awaiting for an incoming competitor as there are reports saying that the new Honda Ridgeline is about to show up within the next 4 to 5 months.

It's not hard to see why the 2016 Toyota Tacoma outsells its competition. According to the Bend Bulletin, the new mid-size truck from the Japanese car maker is strong but quiet and plush.

In fact, it's so quiet that it hardly feels truck-like at all. Boasting plush seats, outstanding suspension, refined interior and a single-finger steering, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma may be the best pick-up truck this year.

The comfort level of the vehicle is rare for its kind since usually, pick-up trucks are known for their raw power and rugged interior/exterior.

But with Toyota giving the Tacoma's design, suspension and handling an extra "oomph," expect this to dominate the market for year and until a worthy competitor comes along.
