NBA News, Rumors And Updates: [SHOCKER] DeMarcus Cousins, George Karl Hold Trade Talks

George Karl and DeMarcus Cousins finally addressed the long-standing NBA trade rumors surrounding the Sacramento Kings big man.

The Kings offseason was ripe with personal conflicts and uncertainty and the head coach's comments regarding its prized player certainly didn't help stabilize relationships.

As reported by Yahoo! Sports, there are rumors that said Karl was trying to trade the All-Star center, one of the most dominant big men in the league right now. The comments made by the coach have, of course, developed into some animosity with the rather sensitive player.

However, it seems that the two are already on their way to fix things up as it was reported that Karl said that he apologized to Cousins.

In a report from Fox Sports, Karl said, "To be honest with you, I apologized to DeMarcus for making the trade comment that I've never coached a player that's untradeable, that was wrong for me to say, because you all (the media) took it and blew it up into crazy."

He further added: "But it's my responsibility to be smart enough to not say things like that, so I did apologize because I thought that was the only thing, maybe some other things, but really the only thing that got us separated was that comment that then everybody wrote the we're going to trade [Cousins]."

The Sacramento Bee reported that with the two patching things up, expect the Kings to be better this year compared to last season.

The Kings also have a new player in the person of All-Star guard Rajon Rondo. As for the key on how the team will approach decision making in the game, Karl said, "Just good decisions at the offensive end of the court." He added, "Good awareness of what we're trying to teach ... and an honest defensive effort."
