Jeremy Lin Has Chance To Reignite 'Linsanity' As Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Injury Occurs; Hornets Star To Guest In TV Show

Jeremy Lin, one of the most popular guards in the NBA today, will have a chance to reignite "Linsanity." But this time, instead of New York, it will be on Charlotte as news of Lin's minutes increase spread due to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's injury.

According to Sportige, the Hornet's prized guard will likely be out either until March or for the rest of the season. Kidd-Gilchrist's injury will be a major blow to the team as he was just coming off to his best season.

The injury of the number two NBA 2012 draft pick will give Jeremy Lin the chance to showcase his brilliance once again.

As reported by Hoops Habit, Lin, who has averaged 13.5 points in 26 minutes over the past two games of the pre-season, is eyeing to man the starting point guard in the line-up. Further reports said that the Hornet's new guard has the most positive effect on the team so far.

Of course, it's not a good thing when a player's increase in minutes is just due to a starter getting injured, but, an opportunity is still an opportunity. Something that Lin needs after an awful year with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In Lin's first game as a Hornet, he tallied a team-high 17 points and then added some nifty seven assists and a steal, a good indication of what the player can do for the team, given the right circumstances.

In a related report by Entertainment Weekly, 2015 looks to be a very good year for Lin as the show "Fresh Off The Boat," ABC's family comedy show about Asian immigrants, will feature the player.

The article reported that Lin will be playing a character named "Chau," a factory worker that will frustrate Randall Park's character Louis with his opinions on the "Pretty in Pink."

"Fresh Off The Boat" featuring Jeremy Lin will premiere on Oct. 13.
