Matt Barnes Beats Up Derek Fisher After Catching Knicks Coach Having An Affair With His Wife

Matt Barnes allegedly beat up Derek Fisher when Barnes caught the Knicks head coach romancing up his estranged wife last Saturday in Los Angeles.

As reported by the New York Post, Barnes was noted to have driven 95 miles in order for him to "beat the shit" out of Fisher. The physical altercation happened when he found that that his estranged wife, Gloria Govan, and Fisher were romancing in the home they once shared.

The 6 foot 7 Barnes, who now plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, made a quick break from his team's training camp and went to California when he was told about the incident.

Barnes was reported to have discovered the alleged affair when his 6 year old twin sons called him that his former Lakers team mate was at the house.

When Barnes arrived at his former house, he found Govan, Fisher and about 10 other people, gathered and cozying up around a bonfire.

The fight was reported to have happened at 11:45 PM. Cops were called to the scene, but Fisher left before law enforcement arrived.

According to ESPN, Fisher decline to offer specific comments regarding the incident and just said, "Personal and private matters are personal and private. We're obviously public figures, but we're at work," and added, "So I won't be commenting on anything that's happened personally or privately for me."

As for his team, the New York Knicks head coach said that he already addressed the issue with the guys, 2 hours before their tip-off.

Regarding the damages Fisher sustained, Bleacher Report noted that the former player-turned-coach has no physical signs of any injury, nor any scratches on his face.

Fisher and Barnes will meet again but this time, in a basketball game when the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks faces each other on Saturday, Jan. 16.
