'Minority Report' CANCELLED? Very Low Ratings Pushed Fox To Cut Short TV Version Of Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell Starrer

“Minority Report” may be the first cancelled series from the Fall 2015 lineup after Fox decided to cut the new series’ freshman run short to 10 episodes instead of its intended 13-episode Season 1.

Sorry "Minority Report" fans, but the show you have just started to get into may already be on its way to meeting its demise. Deadline has just learned that Fox trimmed its ordered episodes from the Meagan Good starrer to 10 episodes and wrapping up production after that.

Initially, the network intended to have 13 episodes for the futuristic thriller with the three episodes being allegedly backup episodes in case the show gets a lot of attention and establishes a strong following despite its Monday night 9 p.m. time slot.

That said, several sources are now claiming that the show could be the first casualty of the Fall 2015 roster of TV shows. The 10th episode could not only be the finale of the freshman series, but it could also be its end.

However, this is not really shocking since The Hollywood Reporter noted that each episode of the series that has aired so far pulls not-so-good ratings.

On its premiere, "Minority Report" only accumulated a 1.1 rating among the 18-49 demographics with 3.1 million viewers. Since then, the rating of the show dropped. Variety has learned through Nelsen's national estimates that the latest episode of the series only drew 2 million viewers.

"Minority Report," which stars Good, Stark Sands, Nick Zano, Daniel London and Wilmer Valderrama among others, is a remake of the 2002 hit sci-fi movie starring Tom Cruise, Samantha Morton and Colin Farrell.

It is one of the Fall 2015 remakes, reboots and adaptions, alongside "Heroes Reborn," "Limitless" and "Uncle Buck."

Speaking on why Fox jumped into the bandwagon of remakes and adaptations, FOX CEO Gary Newman said, "I think having familiar IP is an advantage, and yet you're held to the same standards as with everything else you do. Even if none of those shows ends up working, you won't see us shy away from rebooting what we think is great IP."

Since the official cancellation of "Minority Report" has not been made yet, fans can still enjoy the series until episode 10 is over. The show airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
