Kohl’s Taps Deliv To Ensure Quality Delivery Service This Holiday Season

Kohl’s has just partnered with Deliv in preparation for the busiest time of the year this holiday season. Following Macy’s strategy, Kohl’s revealed Monday that it will now extend its reach to six more cities to offer same-day delivery that’s fast and easy.

With Uber-like startup Deliv on its side, Kohl's is seeing a boost on its sales as it can now realize fast delivery in New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Brooklyn/Queens and Miami weeks from now.

The department store retail chain is still testing the same-day delivery service it will provide with Deliv in areas of Chicago, San Francisco and the Bay Area, as per Reuters

Deliv is also known for being the delivery service provider of Macy's, which caters to 17 cities using the same-day delivery service.

Kohl's announcement comes amid the move of many department store chains to widen their reach and aggressively boost their sales through attention-grabbing strategies, such as the "order online and pick up in store" initiative.

Such new initiatives help department store chains increase their chances of competing against big rivals like Amazon.com, according to PhillyVoice

"Amazon is trying to gain a new edge via same-day delivery in select markets, but department stores have a natural advantage because their stores can serve as fulfillment hubs," analyst Yoram Wurmser from eMarketer was quoted as saying.

Through Kohl's convenient shopping gesture, customers can quickly obtain their orders which they may make using their laptops, tablets and smartphones just by visiting Kohls.com. In every checkout, they will be provided with the option of having their items delivered the same day.

While this move benefits Kohl's sales, it also gives Deliv a boost on its income, which is expected to skyrocket this holiday season given its other engagements in other retailers.

"Fulfilling shipments from local stores is core to omnichannel and the future of retail. We're excited to partner with Kohl's as a part of their broader omnichannel strategy," Deliv CEO Daphne Carmeli said.

Aside from Kohl's and Macy's, Deliv is also doing delivery for Bloomingdale's, Williams-Sonoma and the six largest mall operators in the country, as per MarketWatch
