Are you ready to say goodbye to Francis? Well, “Reign” Season 3 Episode 3 has been teasing about the possibility of finally saying farewell to the king. While it has long been confirmed that this season is going to be Regbo’s Francis’ last, there could be a possibility that it’s also the last time we will see another character.
Let's face it, Francis is sick and he is not getting any better. Even the sneak peek at Episode 3 entitled "Extreme Measures" is suggesting that it's time for him to finally see his end. In the official promo clip, Francis could be seen collapsing as he and Mary walk down the stairs, noted International Business Times.
When the king falls down, Mary goes on to frantically call for help. Adelaide Kane's character appears to be devastated at the sight of her ailing husband. Promotional stills also suggest that Bash and Charles will be stunned when they see Francis. However, it appears that Francis will not die because of his illness.
As per Fashion & Style, Francis is not going to die because of his condition. Instead, he will most likely die in a sword fight. Yes, although it's unimaginable for the sick king to engage in a sword fight, he is going to do so in this week's episode.
The official promotional clip shows Francis being confronted by a group of three men who appear to be surprised that their king is still walking in spite of his illness. When the men ask Francis is he is dying, the king answers them by stimulating a sword fight.
In the wake of Francis' deteriorating condition, Mary is forced to form an alliance in hopes of securing the future of France. She is also forced to hide the real condition of Francis.
Meanwhile, it appears that it isn't only Francis who might lose his life this Friday. Spoilers from "Reign" Season 3 Episode 3 also reveal that Mary's mother, Mary of Guise, is also sick, as per International Business Times, and despite this she will relay the unfortunate message about Scotland's dire situation to her daughter. Can we also hear her death bell ticking?
Other things to watch out for tonight include Catherine trying to be Charles' regent. Elsewhere, Elizabeth is also facing some serious trouble when she is pressured to marry.
The official synopsis of this week's show entitled "Extreme Measures" according to TVGuide reads: "King Antoine returns unexpectedly, so Mary helps Francis conceal his deteriorating health in order to save his family's future. As time runs out, they're forced to turn to an unlikely ally."
