Russell Brand Using Katy Perry For Publicity? Comedian Mocks Ex-Wife In New Documentary [VIDEO]

Ex-couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry are definitely far from over. Now, the 40-year-old comedian is mocking his ex-wife's lifestyle in his new documentary titled "BRAND: A Second Coming." While he couldn't stand living in the spotlight, others can't help but notice that he might be trying to cash in on Perry's name by dragging it into the mud.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry tied the knot in October 2010 in a lavish ceremony held in India. However, once of Hollywood's odd couple called it quits in 2012 after just 14 months of marital bliss. In Brand's latest documentary, he slammed the celebrity lifestyle, which led to the downfall of his marriage to the 31-year-old "Hot N Cold" hitmaker, People noted.

"The stuff in Africa hit me really hard," Brand said in his new documentary. "Oh my f-------g God. I'm living, like, I'm associated with the very thing I detest: vapid, vacuous, plastic, constructed, mindless celebrity. That's the very sea we're swimming in, "Oh, who's he? He's married to Katy Perry.'"

While Russell Brand blames Hollywood for his marriage's demise, Katy Perry said it was Brand's struggles to accept her as an equal, especially when she was on tour, taht took a toll on their relationship.

"At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they're like, I can't handle the equalness. He didn't like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour," she told Vogue. "So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting."

Katy Perry also revealed that she learned his plan to divorce over a text message amid her "Teenage Dream" concert tour, Daily Mail revealed.

"He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," the pop star confessed to The Telegraph.

A source also revealed that Perry was really hurting whenever she would relive her painful marriage, saying the "Roar" singer felt embarrassed and vulnerable.

"I was in bed for about two weeks. I was pretty f--ked, yes. It hurt a lot-I got a good knock," she said during an interview with The Sunday Times before talking about her 2013 breakup album "Prism," as per Us Weekly. "What I wanted to call this record [Prism] at first was Adult Reality because Teenage Dream was so high on that cotton candy cloud, and then it's like I got punched in the face and kicked down the stairs a couple of times. So I had to face the reality that things are not always on cloud nine."

Meanwhile, as Russell Brand continues his rants about the fake Hollywood lifestyle he lived with Katy Perry during their brief marriage, some noticed that it looks like he's trying to use his ex-wife's name for publicity. As he claims to change the world, he doesn't seem to be able to do that without dragging Perry and slams her and her lifestyle after almost four years that he decided they weren't compatible and filed for divorce.
