Prior to "Scandal" Season 5 Episode 6, Olivia's affair with the president took its toll, which needed some damage control to steer away the negative press from the couple. So, Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) offered his help to direct the scandal into a marriage proposal. However, the move came as a surprise to "Scandal" fans since Cyrus originally collaborated with Mellie to impeach Fitz.
