Last week, "Wicked City," ABC's newest crime thriller brought an intriguingly complex depiction of the Sunset Boulevard as it becomes the center for murder and crimes in the 1980s. And on its upcoming Season 1 Episode 2, the series will show the story of a murderous couple who finds its victims on Sunset strip clubs.
Prior to "Wicked City" Season 1 Episode 2 entitled "Running with the Devil," the series depicts the story of Kent Grainger, a serial killer played by "Gossip Girl's" Ed Westwick who preys on young girls who have recently moved in Los Angeles, seeking to make their Hollywood dream come true. He then wins their trust by helping them out as a big shot in the industry. However, the crime begins as he kills them. And two detectives, a successful veteran and his new partner will quickly dive into the case.
"Wicked City" is certainly an intriguing thriller that captures the dark history of L.A. with its fictionalized retelling of crime surge in the '80s, sparking an interesting premise. But much of the appeal of the series is that the stories are based on real crimes, giving a glimpse into the depths of the killers' minds, who are capable of such heinous acts and how they react to them.

In a sneak peek video for the upcoming episode, it hinted that Karen McClaren (Taissa Farmiga) was found and helping the police to make a sketch of the killer. Then Jack (Jeremy Sisto) and Paco (Gabriel Luna) distribute the sketch to all hospitals in the area hoping that someone might recognize Kent. But what's more interesting was the fact that Betty Beaumontaine (Erika Christensen) realizes her new boyfriend is actually a wanted serial killer who was responsible in murdering women on the Sunset Strip, Design & Trend noted.
3. More about Betty and Karen in "Wicked City" Season 1 Episode 2
As the previous episode introduced Karen and Betty as the women in Kent's life, here are some information about their characters. According to ABC, Karen McClaren is a young, struggling journalist who may have met Kent at a club and could identify him as the serial killer. And she may also be his next target.
Betty Beaumontaine, on the other hand, is a young woman who may be Kent's "Bonnie" to his twisted "Clyde" side. She is also a nurse and a single mom-of-two who has quite a sadistic side.
